Cypress Station

Cypress Station is a group of guys formed in the small college town of Huntsville, TX in 2008 during their tenure at Sam Houston State University. This 5 piece band offers a style of music that they hope sets them apart from everything else that is currently going on in music today. Hoping not to be placed in one specific style of music, Cypress Station draws inspiration and influence from artists young and old.

With a long background in music, Glenn Paulk (Lead Vocals, Guitar, Harmonica, Piano), is a founding member of the band and has dedicated his life to singing and playing music. Attending school at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX Glenn has deep roots that make him a valuable asset. Another founding member, Richard Edwards (Guitar, Vocals), has been with Cypress Station every step of the way from the first gig way back in 2008. Dedicated to writing music that can’t be labeled, Richard is a knowledgeable musician who literally has music in his blood. Having the opportunity to watch his mentors play backstage at the Grand Ole Opry and witnessing some of music’s greatest writers first hand at a very young age, he takes pride in his heritage yet stays humble and feels very blessed each time he has the chance to pick up a guitar and play. Jeff Dolman (Fiddle, Slide Guitar, Guitar), is the newest addition to Cypress Station. Having played fiddle since the early age of 10 years old, Jeff has no problem putting his ability on display. With a classical music background there's not much this guy can’t do. He has strong determination and a clean grasp on his own musicianship, and is without a doubt the missing link that has finally rounded out Cypress Stations’ sound. Brian Gaskins (Bass Guitar), has been with the band since late 2009 and the rhythm section hasn't skipped a beat ever since. A solid musician in his own right, Brian offers a wide range of musical skills that are utilized day in and day out. With his faithful skull named jack hanging out on his bass cab while he plays barefoot every night, Brian undoubtedly encompasses the spirit of the band. Stephen Elizondo (Drums, Percussion), also known as “pancho”, is without a doubt the heart and soul of the band. Keeping the guys in the pocket and rounding out the rhythm section, Stephen can easily be described as a heathen on stage. Dedicated to providing an energetic show and entertaining the crowd, the backbone of the band has found a home with Cypress Station and plans on being around for years to come.

Playing original music night after night this Texas based band prides themselves in writing REAL music. Cypress Station promises to provide an energetic, entertaining show every time they step up to the stage and is beginning to establish a fan base across the state. Hopefully you get a chance to watch this band somewhere close to you in the very near future.
